Meet St. Louis singer-songwriter, Bloom. Growing up in a musical family, she started out as a jazz singer. But, as her name implies, Bloom has evolved into a different kind of artist. Finding inspiration in many artists and genres, she doesn’t want her music to be categorized – but if she has to label it, she calls it, “abstract.” A relative newcomer to the St. Louis music scene, her broad appeal was almost instant when her first single, “Raindrops” received over 53,000 plays in its first month. And she is not slowing down a bit!
Shared workspaces are a growing trend in St. Louis. Two local women hope their space in Clayton meets an untapped need. They’re targeting both start-up and established businesswomen who want a home base with office amenities and camaraderie. Rise Collaborative Workspace has already attracted a number of women from a wide variety of fields. It includes programming such as financial planning, yoga and a book club. Next, the founders hope to expand their impact to young women in high school and college through a mentorship program.
