Fall Exhibits at CAM

The Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis opened a new set of exhibits on September 8, and Mickalene Thomas and Hayv Kahraman are among the artists featured. Hayv’s work is fueled by her experience as in Iraqi immigrant and focuses on themes of gender politics, diasporic consciousness, decolonization and collective memory. Mickalene’s work includes film, video, photography and installation that recasts and reconfigures notions of beauty, gender, race and representation.
