This I Love Jazz program features the swing-dancing sounds of the 1920s-40s with Miss Jubilee and the Humdingers captured live at the historic Casa Loma Ballroom in St. Louis. We’ll follow trumpeter Sean Jones to witness what a day in the life of a jazz performer, educator and band leader on the road is like. On Building Blocks of Jazz, Jazz St. Louis’ Phil Dunlap explains the different styles of Big Band Music. For our Jazz Gem, we head to another Casa Loma Ballroom- this one in Canada for a rare 1964 performance featuring Duke Ellington and his Orchestra.

This magazine style program based on Don Wolff’s popular jazz radio show, I Love Jazz, showcases his depth of musical knowledge and appreciation of the historical jazz tradition. As a local renowned jazz authority, Don’s insightful interviews reveal his dedication to music education and his personal love of jazz.
